Central Public Library (National Library Building)

The Central Public Library, on the basement of National Library Building

Literally speaking, it is the central public library. It occupy a whole basement floor of the National Library Building(NLB)
It's large. You can find newspapers, audio material, fiction, young adult books, general adult books, reference books, comics, art books, kids corner; most of library materials.
There are reference libraries, a study room, university offices, a play theatre, or the national library office in other floors of the NLB. The top floor, the library office, is not open to public, but all other floors are open for public. However, it's not allowed to bring a big luggage.
5 min walk from City Hall or Bugis MRT station
There are cafes on the ground floor and on the second floor

Central Public Library、シンガポール公共図書館の中心となる場所。国立図書館ビル(National Library Building)の地下１階の全体を占める。
１フロアまるまるなので広い。newspapers, audio material, fiction, young adult books, general adult books, reference books, comics, art books, kids cornerと、図書館で入手できるものは一通り揃っている。
同ビルの別フロアは国立図書館になっている。Reference Library（閲覧のみの図書館）、自習室、大学のオフィス、図書館の事務所、大きなtheatreなどが入っている。図書館事務所になっている最上階以外は一般開放されていて、手続きなしで出入りできる。ただし大きな荷物は持ち込み不可。
City HallまたはBugis MRT駅から徒歩5分。
国立図書館ビルの１階と２階にカフェあり。
